If my memory serves me right, grub-legacy may have problems with picking 
up OS that needs chainloading (usually Wins) regardless of which OS or 
versions. That's why there is always a need to manually edit menu.lst 
after each change of OS.

To me, having ease of editing menu.lst cannot beat having no need to 
change anything (I thought it's obvious). If there is a need to change, 
something's broke.
