Thanks Gary. I did not know about apt-cache. I've seen it mentioned a
few times but for some reason I did not conflate it with apt-get for
purposes of this thread. I assume, then, that apt-cache is a
dependency of apt-get, in that any system with apt-get installed will
have also apt-cache? This is good to know.
