Hi,
sometimes when paper gets scrambled in a printer the printer is
"stopped" by cups. To continue printing you have to go to
http://localhost:631 (the cups web interface), go "manage" printers,
select the printer which is stopped and restart the printer. You will
need the user name and a password of a users who is in the lpadmin group
to perform this task.
This is quite difficult to remember for my parents, that is why I am
looking for a script to restart the printer after it has been stopped.
executing
/usr/bin/enable PRINTER_NAME
as found on http://www.cups.org/doc-1.1/sam.html#4_3_4 does not work.
Thanks for your advice
Franz
