NoOp,

Sorry, but I didn't miss the point.  I remember the MS-DOS people
complaining about the early versions of Windows (which did indeed suck) ---
not a lot of people using DOS today.  As for people with older, less
powerful, hardware, Ubuntu does provide alternative desktops.  Again, that
was not made obvious to or easy for the less technical among us.

I still have a lot to learn about using Unity, so most of the time I log on
to Ubuntu Classic when I'm working.  I think that the availability of
Classic should have been made more obvious, so users know they have a
lifeline.

However, having done a lot of mobile and pad development, I'm taking the
time to learn to use Unity.  For good or bad, that is the way the world is
moving and I'm glad the Ubuntu is keeping up.
