yes, thats why i asked if you took a look at the upcoming low power
system solution before claiming such a thing ....
i'm typing this on an 800MHz ARM netbook with 512MB ram and plain
framebuffer video support from a very snappy unity-2d install and dont
get how you can claim that ubuntu broke its promise to support low end
systems.
unity-2d runs snappier here (and with less resources) than a std GNOME 2
desktop. even when it is the default fallback mechanism in 11.10 it will
run fine on such hardware.
blaming ubuntu for breaking its promises without having researched the
actual future plans is plainly unfair towards the people that have put
much time and thought into how to stick to this promise.
