When should I upgrade

Lol

My worries are actually for my desktop computer.
It's a pretty old (4+ years I think and a bit low-end), and some hardware
problems which I couldn't fix. These hw problems actually prevent me from
using my CD-ROM. Whenever I stick a CD into the drive, or actually when it
starts reading it, the computer resets. Tried anything like replace cdrom,
ide ribbon, etc. So I had to do a netinstall from my laptop.
(sorry for the long story)

So, I should install 10.04 if I want to receive updates from Canonical?
