GRUB broken during upgrade to 11.04

Thank you all! Your help was really appreciated! It was Rick who finally set
me on the right track: indeed, Win XP could not be on sda3, and by looking
it little bit more closely (with the help of Artifex Maximus I found out
that my working HD is SDB and not SDA!
I then followed the instructions in
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Grub2#Reinstalling%20from%20LiveCD
and now my computer running fine again!
