interested in ubuntu-available OCR software choices

i'm currently digging into what's available for OCR on ubuntu and,
once i've documented what i've found, i'll almost certainly turn it
into a blog post, so i'm interested in what others are actually
*using* in terms of OCR.
i'm not looking for trivial references to packages, i've already
done a fair bit of research and started to document:
* tesseract
* unpaper
* ocropus
* cuneiform
so i don't need any simple pointers to packages. i'm more interested
in what people have discovered in terms of robust OCR toolchains that
they've actually put to use, along with any drawbacks they've noticed,
and i can put all that together into that eventual public post, and
perhaps even an evening presentation at some point.
thanks for any leads.
