Radeon HD 5770 Drivers issues

Hello,

I just got an radeon hd 5770, before i was using the integrated radeon
hd 4250. I thoutght it would be the best to install the official ati
driver, my mistake... It lacks
acceleration, all the desktop effects are disabled. Before the
catalyst(fglrx) it all worked fine, using the same driver as radeon hd
4250.

Ubuntu 10.10 64bits
Monitor AOC 2236-vwa
His ATI Radeon HD 5770

What should i do to fix this and have a nice desktop experience?

If you need more info, please ask, i don't know what i should mention to help =/
