Just my $.002 . . . I support your effort to attempt to solve a problem 
you think needs solving. +1 for that.  But it can be a tough environment 
out there.  Drawing an analogy from the natural world, you need to have 
"skin" appropriate to the climate.  For the promoters / founders of a 
new online service, amphibians need not apply; emulate the rhinoceros 
instead.  That step alone will engender some respect.
