Yes. Unless you have some sort of "special" card (what model is it?) or
reason for using the nVidia driver directly, remove it & use the one
from System|Administration|Additional drivers. It may take you some
tweeking to get it set up properly (use your old kernel first), but
afterwards you shouldn't run into similar issues with a kernel upgrade.
