Installing Thunderbird 2 on current LTS

I use Thunderbird for archiving and backing up my Gmail account over
IMAP, but T'bird 3 keeps freezing up on me & is very slow. I'd like to
go back to TB2.

The direct download from Mozilla.org doesn't work - for one, it's a
32-bit build, and secondly, it depends on libstdc++ 5 and 10.04
includes only libstdc++ 6.

I was wondering what was the last version of Ubuntu that contained TB
2.0.0.24 - the final build of TB2 - so I could grab the 64-bit version
and install the .debs directly. Anyone know?
