Linux kernel power problem fix

The following article at Phoronix http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=article&item=linux_2638_aspm&num=1 suggests a fix for the power problem plaguing the 2.6.38 and higher kernels; namely to add "pcie_aspm=force" to their boot command line. 


Has anyone yet tried this? 


What file does one modify and how? 


Is this going to appear as an update anytime soon?
