howto upgrade from 9.04 to 9.10 (and newer) today (june 2011)

Can't this be fixed by simply using a CD update? I don't know if the
later is related but I'm going to reply in this fashion anyways :P

I have to agree here, I don't think the updater on the CD got any good
till about 10.10, I can't remember what changes happened but I do
remember there being an improvement over the iteration before it.
