You are right. At some point I upgraded to 10.10. Then, I received the
invitation for upgrading to Natty.

My graphics card is :
Asus en9400gt silent /htp/512m

When I boot the machine I obtain the following messages :

Ubuntu 11.04 monad tty

Then I log with my usual user and password. I have access to the file
system but I am stuck in text mode.

Then I login as root.
I do startx and I obtain the following message :

...

kernel system's log for additional error messages.
Failed to load module 'nvidia' (module-specific error,0)

Please also check the log file at '/var/log/Xorg.0.log' for additional
information.

I have checked the Xorg.0.log, but it gives the same information.

I have followed your advice.
In the Grub menu, I have chosen the recovery mode and the dpkg option.
Then, I have logged in as root.
Then, I have done :
apt-get update
apt-get install -f
dpkg --configure -a

I have rebooted. But nothing changes I am still in same situation as
before.

I have also tried uninstalling Unity4 and installing gnome. However, I
still get the same problem.

Do you think I have to change my graphic card in order to be able to use
Natty ?

Thanks for your help.

Cheers,
