Same here I was upgrading my girl's laptop from 10.04 to 10.10 and it
wouldn't update the distro unless you changed a few settings. Now my
10.10 server keeps asking me if I want to update to 11.04 but, thats not
a LTS release, like you said.

OP: If you don't want to mess with it restore from updates or use a live
cd/usb to get your data and reinstall the version of Ubuntu you want or
glance through these links.
