hi all,

i've got a strange problem on a freshly installed 10.04 system. i
commonly see the message "Communications with UPS restored" broadcast
from root and (perhaps related) gnome-power-manager is using several
hundred MB of RAM. the box is connected to an APC BR1000G with the
provided USB cable. the strange thing is i never see a message about
the communications being lost with the UPS.

here are some of the most recent events in /var/log/apcupsd.events,
covering 3 reboots:

i've looked through the log file and the times at which the messages are
logged seem random; i can't really correlate them with any specific
events....
