Reduce font size. System > Preference > Appearance > Fonts, doesn't work

Thanks for tip-off, however it doesn't seem to do the trick for me.
Had already tried it.
Wasn't sure if attachment are permitted here, so uploaded a screenshot
to explain the problem better. I have highlighted various regions of
text in the windows, to show the various font sizes.

As one may see, the window title, the window's drop-down menu are in
the large 10/12 size fonts, where-as all the other text is in 8 size
font. I've changed from 'Classic Ubuntu' to 'LXDE' to see if it'd fix
things, but alas, the same problem remains, i.e. barring the windows's
drop-down menu, and window title, I am able to control all other font
settings.
