Unity: how to add shortcuts + shortcut bar is cluttered

So do I. More so than Gnome 3.

The way I did it was to install CCSM (CompizConfig Settings Manager)
Go to the "Desktop" catagory
Find and open the "Ubuntu Unity Plugin"
Open the "Experimental" tab
Slide the "Launcher icon size" to the left to make the icons smaller.

All Done :)

At the moment I have mine on 32. That way I can fit in all my
applications I am running on this 1024 X 768 screen :)
