I have a Ubuntu system that has been working super for a few years.
Recently it has crashed on me when I have been in Facebook. It has
happened 6 times now and each time it has been while I have been doing
something, (3 were while I was entering text).
There is no error. There is no kernel panic. Just a blank screen and
then the PC reboot sequence.
My first thought was processor over heating. I checked the processor
temperature and it wa reporting 49C and it was set to safety shutdown if
the temperature got to 100C.
My second thought was memory. So A ran a many hour memory test with no
errors.
The only thing left is the power supply, but I had two crashes yesterday
while on Facebook, and non today while doing other web browsing, and
using open office. So the power supply is working now. It seems weird.
Any ideas?
