Unity desktop not loading

I find Gnome 3 quite easy and most pleasant to use - and it is much more 
configurable then Unity. Of course, there are still some minor 
irritations to be worked on but as the first (shall we call it an Alpha 
1 or perhaps a Beta 1?) it holds much promise for the future.
