Perhaps it's not really a bad thing that you're unable to run "Unity";
the hardware you've got sounds just fine and dandy for a real desktop,
i.e., Gnome and Compiz and stuff that's actually usable and
productive...however, yeah, get the proprietary NV drivers if you're
really wanting to make your "desktop" look more like a mobile phone. ;)
