apt discrepancy?

If it's on login that junk is said, it's most likely not an apt
discrepancy, just a MOTD glitch and didn't update the MOTD when you last
updated, possibly.  What happens with you do:

apt-get clean
apt-get update
apt-get dist-upgrade
