Password with special characters in cifs credential file

Hi all,

I have a password with some special characters (ASCII) like pipe(|) and hash(#).
Using the command line and enclosing password with "" mounting works
correctly (... username=xxx,password="yyy" ...).
If I use a credential file (for security reason of course) the mount
fails with an error 13 (Permission denied).

I've tried with octal representation, but I get the same error.

I refuse some workarounds like using a PASSWD env variable or writing
the password in the fstab file.

There is a reported bug for samba
( but it concerns non
ASCII characters...

Can you help me (I'm using Ubuntu Natty, 11.04)?
