You have to install Ubuntu before being able to use "dpkg
--set-selections < installed-software-list" (and I suspect that the
next step's "dselect" not "deselect" because I know it as "apt-get
dselect-upgrade"). But you cannot use it on 10.04 after running "dpkg
--get-selections > installed-software-list" on 8.04.
