Problem during upgrade from 08.04 LTS to 10.04.1 LTS

Was Open Office the normal Hardy or one of the PPAs?  In any case, the un-
installing cure should work.  It can be reinstalled from your working upgraded 
system.  I have never had to do it though.

Well 39 machines so far have been directly upgraded from 8.04 to 10.04, 
however, since it was in the instructions, everyone of them was done from 
gnome rather then from the normal KDE each of them always use. None had a 
problem.  Of course, none of them had nvidia anything on them.
