Where did the volume control go?

What earthly reason could there be for including the Evolution mail
applet with this? For that matter, what earthly reason could there be
for integrating Evolution so tightly to the OS that it can't be removed
without losing Gnome? Do the godlike devs think that Gramma and Grampa
Windows User will always want evolution? It reminds me of windows and
IE. Come on squeeze!
