When your VM is up and running, select "Devices" from the VM menu along
the top, then "Install Guest Additions". That will set up a virtual disk
with the guest additions on it. Depending on the guest operating system
it may be mounted automatically or you may have to mount it. Once the
disk is mounted, you install the guest additions appropriate for the
guest operating system.

There are full instructions in the user manual for VirtualBox - see
section 4 of the VB4 manual.
