tomcat startup script not working at boot

Did you export JAVA_HOME?

What .bashrc is this in?  If it is tied to a specific user account,
that might not work - you may need to edit one of the global bashrc
files (/etc/bash.bashrc or /etc/bashrc, depending on which one you
have).
