Moving gdm from vt7 to vt12

I've been googling for awhile and snooping around in config, but I'm
stumped.

How do I have gdm/X/desktop whatever start on vt12 instead of vt7?

I need more vt's and I find it more pleasant to scoot the desktop over to 12
so that I can have gettys on 1-10 and a secure top on 11.
