It depends on what you want to do.

I usually put /boot, / and /home in separate partitions because I find
it easier to do certain kinds of recovery that way.  Wherever you put
/boot *must* be a primary partition, all the others can be whatever
you like.  Some people prefer a single / partition that also contains
/boot, most people prefer putting /home in a separate partition.
