Not able to Access Wireless Connection from Ubuntu

I cant connect to internet even when I run it off the cd. I also downloaded
the drivers by connecting with cable. But still it doesnt show up the
wireless networks available when I click on the concentric bars icon at the
top (Ubuntu 10.01).
