"Resolved," "resolution" usually refer to reconciliation of conflict,
while "solve," "solution" refer to seeking out a previously unknown
answer to a question or problem.

English is easier for a non-native speaker to use, because there is a
lot of overlapping meaning between terms like "resolve" and "solve," but
the downside is a lack of precision in choosing the precisely right word
for a particular case. Native speakers often disagree over which word to
prefer in a particular case.
