You can resolve the differences but you actually solve the problems.
But when you have solved a problem, its already been resolved, whereas
while you have resolved the differences, problem might not be solved.
Further, you can resolve the arguments, but don't confuse with
'resolution'. Most of the times, problems get solved with time and
issues are resolved. If you have resolved an issue, it sometimes be
the conclusion that the problem is still not solved. But if the
problem has been solved, this issue is always resolved. When you
explain things, you solve it for somebody else. And when you have
finally determined something, you have resolved the matter, e.g.: "You
would live a more cheerful life now onwards" is that you resolved it.
