importing a pdf document in OpenOffice/LibreOffice leaves many things to
be desired (many of them centered on the time wasted to clean up the
document) but once you have the document in OpenOffice/LibreOffice, you
have full control over all text attributes and that should include the
lines (assuming that they aren't graphics).
Seems that your issue at this point is not understanding the feature set
of OpenOffice/LibreOffice - which is understandable.
SWAG - these lines you are referring to are probably set either by a
paragraph border or by tabs.
