keyboard problem

Running Natty with all the latest updates on a Samsung netbook.  WHen
I hit the letter 'o' I get the number 6.  The whole right side of the
keyboard is messed up.  No recent major updates installed.  I tried
removing the USA keyboard, Spanish and French doing the same things
and each time I reboot the USA keyboard returns.  Tried fixing broken
packages.  Tried booting into lesser video mode.  Nothing has worked
so far.
