Pegatron laptop with wireless hardware-disabled

Laptop: Pegatron (ASUS)

OS: Ubuntu 10.10 x86.

Hi to all,

A friend of mine has a Pegatron brand-renamed laptop, which has its
wireless hardware-disabled by default (an Atheros wireless card).

There is no option in the BIOS about having wireless enabled by default.

So, she has to press Fn-F2 every time after logging in Ubuntu, to enable
wireless.

The issue exists in other distributions (like Fedora 14, Scientific
Linux 6) and future versions currently Alphas and Betas (like Fedora 15,
and Ubuntu 11.04).

Is there any way to automatically submit the Fn-F2 combination, as a
script or something, when logging in the user account?

Thank you,
