Not meant to cause problems, because Wayland is backwards compatible.

You can still use Classic Ubuntu (if I remember right) which is simply
GNOME 2x for now.  People should be well aware that recently GNOME 3 was
released which means eventually you will land on having an interface
like it anyways, that goes to say that Ubuntu might keep GNOME 2 for a
couple of releases considering they have Unity or they might triple up
to satisfy all.

Fedora will be the first to have GNOME 3 in a production release.  It's
a Bleeding-Edge Distro, so you will come to face a Unity like interface
sooner on Fedora too.

You never know if you'll like something unless you try it continuously
so try out other distros too, but remember a pure Debian/Ubuntu fan like
me will always point out the fact that you can select whether or not you
use Unity on your password input screen.  Simply select Ubuntu Classic
(if I remember right.)
