Please include <OT> in the subject line. Then others can filter on it
and not have to call us bad names.

There might be a case made that what we are developing today is what the
next generation will use. The "desktop computer", that I know and love,
will shortly become a thing of the past, with the Dodo. Myself, I have
always used a CRT monitor. In the past, LED displays looked like hell.
My old eyes like the nice tight CRT display. But, I'm moving on,
chucking my 21" 80 pound Dell for two 19" LED's that look just great,
weigh nothing and use far less amperage!! I'm moving on.

So yes, I mourn the desktop size computer passing on... but the reason
for supporting it becomes less and less obvious every day. I guess Mark
looked into the very near future and decided he wouldn't let himself,
nor Ubuntu, be playing catch up to that looming reality. Being second
best, in playing hand grenades, is not ~nearly~ as good as being the
winning player. So, it looks like Uncle Mark is going to drag us there.
I see his point, but I mourn the passing of my era. We will be living
dead men, as I see it, very shortly if we don't move on too. <sniffs>
I'm still jerked off by Caldera winking out of existence and someone
stealing the line numbers out of Basic though. Ric
