tried what you suggested as per below
No change .
It is almost amusing
I am wondering what will happen if I remove ntfs tools

fuse: mount failed: Device or resource busy
removed entry from fstab
then

sudo mount /media/common
mount: can't find /media/common in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab

which was expected

Reboot machine

go to places click on common
loads and still shows no entries.

Any ideas?
