Unity Desktop

Hi,

Please help me understand about the Unity Desktop which will be available in
11.04. is it a desktop or window manager or part of Gnome. Also when is
Gnome3 going to be available in Ubuntu by default.

Also what are the key features in 11.04 which were not available in the
earlier releases of Ubuntu Desktop.
