Yes, at least I think so. The UDMA cable detection (which is the topic
here) is only a feature of the PATA interface. As an analogy, the PATA /
SATA difference is like the difference between the dial-up modem and the
ADSL modem. The command set you are talking about is used at a different
layer - in this analogy it would be something like TCP/IP which can be
used over both dial-up and ADSL.
