Unless you have a huge intranet behind it and several internet
connections, any legacy machine with Bind and Squid installed will
probably do, unless you want it to perform other chores, such as mail,
hosting and who knows what else. Once started, no keyboard, mouse or
monitor needed, not even a graphical environment. In fact any
production machine could act as a Internet Gateway in a small office,
besides its normal tasks.
