There is KDE amd there is KDE.  It seems to depend on the 
implementation.  I believe that Kubuntu and PCLINUXOS are both using
KDE 4.4.5.  PCL is a wonderful system.  I looked at the Kubuntu live
for about 20 minutes and decided that there's no way to fix it, ever.
