Well, if I had the money, I would mostly run laptops, I suspect,
rather than the motley assortment of old towers that actually comprise
my network. (Although one is a Mac and one is a SPARCstation, so they
can stay. :¬) ) I also have an iMac and a Mac mini (PowerPC versions)
and they are pleasantly small and neat and attractive.

But actually, I have computers to make money for me, not for me to
spend money on, so I run pretty much entirely on free kit that I have
been given by friends, clients and so on. This means it's all a bit
old - even my PC laptop, bought from a dealer in 2008, is a
refurbished 2004 model.

All my desktop/tower PCs still have floppy drives. None of the working
laptops do, I must admit; alas my 486-powered Thinkpad 701C died of
leaky batteries.

However, for the server and business workstation side of things, I
think that desktop technology is still important and needs to be
supported.
