I've been monitoring the list for a week or so, thinking of converting
to Ubuntu. I was impressed by the quality and helpfulness of the list,
and the lack of personal attacks. But, it seems that there are folks
here who get their kicks by ranting on and on about how someone else
is a complete idiot for asking what that knows-everything person has
deemed a silly question. Too bad - it diminishes the quality of the
list, especially for beginners.

Since you knew the answer, it would have been much better, and MUCH
nicer, to have simply responded with JUST the answer. Saved you some
typing, too. :-) Would have kept up the list quality, and left a much
better impression of you as well...
