In Oz we tend to use the  Macquarie dictionary not the Oxford - and it's 
still called english. So what's wrong with the

Are you sure? So then is Queens English  German - for the latest 
dynasty. Or French for the few hundred years after William the 
Conqueror????? LOL

University dictionaries are just general agreement between academics 
based on some guidelines. Not the same things as the hard sciences i.e. 
they are not FACT just generally accepted usage and spelligns. There is 
NO definitive english - it is an evolving language not a 
controlled/managed one.

Seriously accents, and to a lesser extent dialects. change just by 
travelling 70miles in the UK. So which one is THE one and are the rest 
of them doing it wrong?
