I assume you tried to browse the network and you server machine is not
listed, right?

Try the following:

- on the Windows machine, open Explorer
- in the address bar, type 

    \\ip.of.your.server

(example: -> \\192.168.1.50  )

and see if it list your shared folders within Explorer.
