Check in your JUNK (SPAM) box to see if they are there.

Same thing happened to me last week: sent a response and it hadn't 
arrived - normally it only takes a minute or so to have it back. Noticed 
that I had a new message in Junk so went looking. Found that Thunderbird 
for some reason only known to itself decided that it was a spam message 
and well....junked it :-) .
