Hi Gary

The 'e' key is the key e on the keyboard. When you use the keys to choose your 
menu option you should see below where it says to use the arrow keys to 
select and e edit the command before continuing.. Basically I'm saying make 
the selection using the arrow keys. hit the e key to edit the commands before 
the actual boot up, add noapic to the end of the line that starts with 
initrd. then hit ctrl-x to boot the modified command. You'll see at the 
bottom of the screen mentions re the key presses while you do this

It's not permanent but if it works someone may be able to point out how to 
make it so as in 10.04 the menu.lst file seems to have gone
